D.i.y Felt Gift Bow

Happy christmas eve! Can not believe christmas is almost over. To be honest it didn't really feel too christmasy this year, I know school had a lot to do with that as well as running around all the time. So to save time I thought I would make gift wrapping easy with these felt gift bows. They are a perfect way to top any small package. But I must say my favorite is wrapping one around a wine, and the best part is you can use these all year round. I make enough to save me throughout the whole year. That way when a birthday or special event comes up and I have nothing to give, I grab me one of these, head to the market & done. Oh and they are totally reusable!

Supplies

#1. Glue gun
#2. Glue sticks
#3. Scissors
#4. Ruler
#5. Felt
#6. 20 mins of your time

Step one: Choose the type of felt you'd like to use.

Step two: Use these measurements for length and width.  I was to lazy to cut each strip so I just guesstimated.

Step three: Glue each strip into criss cross ribbons (similar to breast cancer awareness ones).
& leave that little piece shown below alone. You'll use it later.

Step four: Pile longest ribbons on the bottom (3 of them) and so on.
3 strips, 10 1/2" x 3/4"
3 strips, 9 1/2" x 3/4"
2 strips, 8 1/2" x 3/4"
1 strip, 3 1/2" x 3/4"

Step five: Now its time to use that small strip and form a circle. This will go on the top of the pile of ribbons.

I made a burgundy one as well!

I also decided to add elastic to tie around a bottle of wine for a quick gift wrap!

Just hot glue the elastic to the bottom of the bow, then glue a piece of felt to secure it.

Or turn it into a pin! Perfect for holiday parties or simply to be festive.

Cheers!

D.i.y pizza cookie

There are many things I enjoy in this world. Two of which are chocolate
and pizza. So I thought I'd combine the two! Plus Im personally not a cake person.
Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful I just prefer the taste of a warm cookie or brownie.

Naturally (for me) this the perfect alternative & would be a blast to do with kids. This particular pie was for a birthday girl, whom was pleasantly surprised to see a huge cookie in a pizza box! Now if your thinking this is just too much chocolate, you can easily substitute the nutella for some strawberry/raspberry preserves. I actually kept fighting with myself on what to use for the "pizza sauce". I knew some sort of fruit preserve would look much more like a pizza, but my sweet tooth couldn't deny nutella.

Supplies:

#1. Two packets of chocolate chip cookie dough

#2. Nutella

#3. Four mini packets of M&Ms

#4. Shaved coconut

Step one: Let your two packets of cookie dough thaw, that you can easily
form a ball with the dough.

Step two: Spread your cookie dough on a pizza pan (I added grease, but
its not necessary). Don't forget to create a "crust" around the edges
when kneading the dough. When your ready to place it in the oven make
sure you follow the cookie dough instructions. When you remove the
pizza from the oven let it cool for about 20 minutes or until the dough has cooled.

Step three: Spread nutella in a circular motion.
Make sure to leave an inch around without nutella.

Step four: Now is the time to make your pizza slices. If you wait till
the end the cookie will harden, making it impossible to cut the cookie
without breaking it.

Step five: Add your pepperoni (Chocolate M&Ms). I tried to make sure each slice had
a mixture of colors and kept the doubles to a minimum.

Step six: Add the cheese (shredded coconut)! This was my favorite part.
I loved spreading the cheese just like I would for a pizza.

Step seven: & now for the Pièce de résistance.
A pizza box for your pizza cookie!

Step eight: Deliver your pizza pie to a special friend!
Or have yourself a pizza night with a side of ice cream!

D.I.Y citrus body scrub

I'm so sad to see summer leave. Yet I am jumping with joy that I'm going to be able to wear sweaters, splash in rain puddles, eat 10x more than I already do, and everything else that comes with fall/winter.  This scrub is my way of holding on to summer by a string.

Ingredients:
1. 1 cup of white pure cane sugar
2. 1/2 a cup of coconut oil / olive oil
3. 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
4. 1 lemon

Steps:
1. Place sugar in a bowl along with vanilla, zest
of one whole lemon, and the juice of half the lemon.
**Remember to zest first then cut the lemon.

2. Slowly pour in the coconut oil/ olive oil and stir. That
way you can see how liquidy you'll want your scrub.

3. Place in a container or jar, tie a string with a label and voila!

Now your ready to use it in the shower! I love to scrub it all over my legs, then lather on my shaving cream. You will not believe how clean of a shave you'll get. OH and a helpful tip is to shower 6 mins after you've entered the shower. It prevents ingrown hairs.

The days I feel like sharing I make double the amount. I like to place them in the fridge, that way when a birthday comes along I'm prepared at all times! Did I mention it smells delicious? Im not going to lie, I've had a taste or two. Believe me you'll get curious too.
